Sometimes the most impactful design changes aren’t complete overhauls but just a few thoughtful refinements. 

That was the case with our recent project for Bird & Blend Tea Co., an independent, award-winning tea brand with a mission to spread happiness and reimagine tea. 

The Project in a Nutshell

Bird & Blend approached us with a straightforward request to refresh their website to better align with their in-store branding without rebuilding the entire site from scratch. 

With the upcoming launch of their new Matcha Whisk product, the timing was perfect for a little visual update that would create a more cohesive experience between their digital and physical presence. 

What We Did

Rather than suggesting a complete website overhaul, we focused on a handful of targeted updates that would deliver the most impact: 

• Redesigned Navigation - We restructured the site navigation to create better user flow and consistency across the website, while also showcasing their new Matcha Whisk product.
• New Footer - We gave the footer a complete refresh, introducing a new custom illustration that added character and playfulness to the brand online. This small touch actually became a team favourite. 
• Typography and CTA Refinement - We rolled out new fonts and refined the CTAs across key pages, creating a more polished and cohesive look throughout the site. 

These small but mighty tweaks added up to a noticeably better experience.

A Happy Outcome

While we didn’t set hard KPIs for this project, the internal feedback has been amazing. 

The refreshed website supported Bird & Blend with the launch of their Matcha Whisk, and team members have shared how much they love the more playful design, especially the colourful wave illustration. 

Overall, this project is a good example of how targeted design updates can deliver huge improvements without the cost and complexity of a full website rebuild.
