Senior UX Designer
We are looking for a Senior UX Designer to join our team.
You’ll play a central role in designing high-converting, creative Shopify storefronts for a range of fast-growing eCommerce brands. To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be confident balancing strong visual and UX design skills with a strategic mindset; understanding user needs, business goals, and technical realities.
You’ll work alongside our delivery team to take projects from discovery through to QA and deployment, ensuring we deliver on-brief while always aiming to push boundaries. You should be equally comfortable discussing best practice and data-informed decisions as you are with rolling up your sleeves and jumping into Figma.
You’ll bring a passion for eCommerce, sharp attention to detail, and a deep understanding of what makes users convert. This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their design career, take ownership of their work, and help mentor junior creatives.
You must also have a solid grounding in design QA; ensuring what gets built matches what was designed, functions properly across devices, and delivers the expected user experience.
Experience and skills:
- ● 3+ years of UX/UI design experience, ideally in a Shopify or eCommerce-focused agency
- ● Solid understanding of the Shopify platform and its limitations/opportunities for design
- ● A strong portfolio showcasing eCommerce and CRO-focused UX/UI work
- ● Experience using Figma to produce wireframes, prototypes, and final UI designs
- ● A balance of creativity and systemised thinking; confident working within design systems
- ● Understanding of user journeys, funnels, and common friction points in eCommerce
- ● Able to present and communicate design decisions clearly to both internal teams and clients
- ● Comfortable running discovery sessions and contributing to project scoping
- ● Capable of applying user research, analytics, and testing to design decisions
- ● Knowledge of QA processes: checking responsive builds, browser testing, accessibility, etc.
- ● Familiar with HTML/CSS to better collaborate with developers (no need to code!)
- ● Experience in CRO, A/B testing, and iterative improvement
- ● Passionate about DTC brands, design trends, and e-commerce innovations
Responsibilities:
- ● Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, goals, and user needs
- ● Present and explain design decisions in a confident and informed way
- ● Attend discovery and review calls, and lead design-focused discussions
- ● Suggest UX improvements and optimisations based on data and industry best practices
- ● Lead UX/UI design across new Shopify builds and ongoing retainers
- ● Ensure that designs align with brand identity, are technically achievable, and user-focused
- ● Support QA by checking builds against design files and flagging issues
- ● Work with developers and PMs to ensure smooth handovers and delivery
- ● Take part in internal design reviews and contribute to team critiques
- ● Mentor junior designers, provide feedback, and encourage high standards
- ● Help evolve and maintain our internal design systems and templates
- ● Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure timelines are realistic and achievable
- ● Support with the organisation of client assets, feedback, and documentation
- ● Identify areas to improve our delivery process and advocate for efficiency
